Surrendering your pet/pets
If you have a pet that you can no longer care for and need to surrender it please contact us and we will try to help. Second Chance Animal Rescue is a no kill rescue. All the animals are in foster homes and space availablity changes. Please understand not all fosters can take all animals. Fosters are volunteers and they try to help when they can. Most of the Fosters work full time so we will try to get back to you within 24-48 hours.
If you surrender your pet to the rescue it's cage, food and all it's belongings will need to come with it. Also a donation is required to help care for, feed and possibly vet the animal while it is waiting for it's new home. Please understand that finding a new home usually takes between 1-6 months. All adoptors are screened and many are not serious so this takes time to find the pet a new home. Below is the surrender form. You can copy and past or it will be emailed to you.
Surrender Donation: A minimal donation of $20 will be required for each animal surrendered to Second Chance Animal Rescue. The $20 donation covers only a portion of the costs to care for each animal. Donations are used to pay for vets fees, feed, hay, vegtables, dust bath, treats, toys, bedding and anything else the pets need. Donations in excess of the $20 are greatly encouraged and appreciated as Second Chance Animal Rescue is a NO KILL rescue. Care is ongoing and expensive. A surrender donation is critical to helping us continue to opperate and care for all the animals in foster homes.
